Ryan Adams - Love Is Hell Pt 1

Sometimes record companies are idiots. Ryan Adams delivered the follow up to "Gold" to Lost Highway records, who subsequently refused to release it as it wasn't deemed commercial enough, So after a bit of negotiation, he sneaks off to record "Rock and Roll", which they're happy with and release as intended (despite it being one of Adams' worst albums) and split the original album "Love Is Hell" into two EP's which are quietly released with very little promotion.

Love Is Hell is a masterpiece containing some of Ryan Adams best songs, beautifully arranged and excellently produced. It's a sad album which may have been what put off the label, but for me it's up with "Heartbreaker" as one of Ryan Adams best albums. and to top it all off, the best song on the album is written from te perspective of the ghosts in the movie "Beetlejuice"! here it is. "This House Is Not For Sale"...
