A Camp was a solo side project for Nina Persson from The Cardigans. Produced by Mark Linkous of Sparklehorse, it's an album of country tinged pop songs which went on to shape the sound of the Cardigans later work. I was introduced to this band by my friend Liz who put a song or two from it on a mixtape for me years ago.
It's a great album and one I've not listened to as much as i maybe should have over the years. Standout song for me is "The Bluest Eyes In Texas, which is apparently a cover of an old country song by a band called Restless Heart. I've not heard the original but A Camp's version is utterly fantastic...
